Admission Status: Non-Degree-Seeking Students


Applicants accepted to the School of Health Professions, or the School of Medicine will be admitted as degree-seeking students.

Pre-matriculation Requirements for Non-Degree-Seeking Students

  • Electronically complete the Criminal Background Check - All students residing in the United States and Canada must submit a criminal background check as part of their Conditions of Acceptance within 10 days of accepting the offer. Visit the PreEmploy Force website and use the Unique Package code 052897 to complete this process. Use only Internet Explorer to complete this requirement.
  • Submit Final Transcripts: Accepted students are required to submit proof of baccalaureate degree with the degree conferral date posted on the transcript.
  • Complete Mandatory Compliance Requirements Module in Blackboard (Not required for Art Therapy and Counseling non-degree students):
    • Bloodborne Pathogen (Distance Learning students are not required to complete this requirement)
    • Compliance
    • HIPAA
    • Title IX
  • Complete Online Orientation (Art Therapy and Counseling non-degree students are not required to complete this requirement)
  • Complete Online Course Registration

Changing from Non-degree to Degree-Seeking Status

Applicants changing from Non-degree to Degree-seeking are required to complete the program degree-seeking application and must submit the required application materials for the degree-seeking program. In addition, the non-degree student must submit their EVMS transcript. Credit received as a non-degree student may be transferred toward a graduate degree. The Program Director will determine and approve total credits to be transferred prior to a student changing to degree-seeking status.
